A hand-thrown ceramic vase made using the Raku technique, a traditional method originating in Japan. During Raku firing, the heated ceramic is placed in a container with natural combustible materials, causing rapid temperature changes and limiting oxygen access. This creates unique, raw structures and distinctive copper highlights on the surface, which cannot be replicated in two identical pieces.
The vase has an organic, slightly irregular form with a noticeable surface structure. Delicate transitions from dark tones to warm accents give it depth and a subtle glow. This unique piece is made in a single piece.
Due to the firing technique, the work is not intended for pouring water . It can only be used as a vase when placed inside a sealed container .
